1. Generation Xchange (GenX) Intergenerational Program (GenX) (Pipeline Program)

  • Older adults serve as volunteers in LA elementary schools tutoring young students (K–3), promoting literacy while also benefiting their own cognitive and social health.

2. OLLI at UCLA (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute)

  • Designed specifically for learners aged 50 +, OLLI offers non-credit, relaxed courses — no tests, no grades, just engaged exploration in topics like art, history, languages, wellness, and more.
  • Options include lectures, discussion groups, creative courses, movement classes, and special events, available in-person, online, or hybrid formats UCLA Extension.
  • Instructors are UCLA faculty and other experts; membership access includes museum tours, film screenings, field trips, and social engagement opportunities.

3. Community Education & Libraries (Seniors) (Older Adults)

  • Local adult schools, community colleges, and West LA community centers offer affordable, often free classes—including ESL, crafts, technology training, and hobby-based learning.
  • Public libraries across LA County frequently offer free or low-cost workshops in tech, wellness, arts, and social activities.
